Why Evil Men Love Darkness and Hate Gospel Light | Dan Corner

Have you ever wondered why those on the road to hell treat Christians (and their wonderful gospel message) so badly? Here’s the answer:

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. (John 3:19,20)

Evil doers hate and love the wrong things! They love darkness and hate the light, the opposite of a real Christian, one who has eternal life. So how wicked is society—past and present—with that in mind? The answer is: Since the MAJORITY of people are on the road to hell and are also evil doers, then the MAJORITY of people love spiritual darkness (false doctrines, sin, etc.) and hate spiritual light (God’s truth and an obedient faith with commitment to the Lord Jesus). All Christians were there at one time, but God’s wonderful gospel, when received, changed things in the most blessed way. To become a new creation in Christ means goals, values and ambitions all change for the good to please God and help others.

God bless you.

Eternal Salvation Is Not Eternal Security | Dan Corner

Can a person who loses his eternal salvation ever get saved again? Some erroneously think that eternal salvation means eternal security but the two terms are NOT the same. Eternal salvation is only for those who OBEY JESUS (Heb 5:9) whereas eternal security teaches one is saved forever regardless of what he does or fails to do. Once saved always saved is a popular myth having nothing to do with Biblical facts. Many are in hell now because of this snare to the soul. The real plan of salvation is repentance towards God and faith in Christ Jesus. Christians must endure to the end to be saved (Mt 10:22; Heb 3:14; Rev 2:10,11, etc.)

Is Jer. 10:1-4 Referring To a Christmas Tree? | Dan Corner

It has been said that Jer. 10:1-4 is about a modern day Christmas tree. Let’s take a look at the passage in question:

Hear what the LORD says to you, O house of Israel. This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.” (Jer. 10:1-4)

The way a Christmas tree is decorated has some thinking that passage is referring to such, but it isn’t. The context clears up that misconception:

“Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good.” No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power. Who should not revere you, O King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you. They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols. Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. What the craftsman and goldsmith have made is then dressed in blue and purple—all made by skilled workers. But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath. (Jer 10:5-10)

The subject is man made wooden idols, which are contrasted with the true and living God in those ten verses. It is not referring to a Christmas tree, as much as some would like it to be. This, however, is not an endorsement of a Christmas tree, but merely stating that Jer. 10:1-4 is not a condemnation of a Christmas tree as some wrongly think. Dan Corner denounces the Santa god and singing to the Christmas tree.

The 1914 Jehovah’s Witness Gospel

Few Christians have never heard of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but of that larger number very few seem to know what they say the gospel is. To the Jehovah’s Witnesses the Christian gospel is that the kingdom was established in the heavenlies in 1914!

Let the honest-hearted person compare the kind of preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom done by the religious systems of Christendom during all the centuries with that done by Jehovah’s Witnesses since the end of World War I in 1918. They are not one and the same kind. That of Jehovah’s Witnesses is really “gospel,” or “good news,” as of God’s heavenly kingdom that was established by the enthronement of his Son Jesus Christ at the end of the Gentile Times in 1914. (The Watchtower 5/1/81, p.17, emphasis mine)

It is astounding that anyone could believe that, but millions of Jehovah’s Witnesses do! Their strange unscriptural gospel is only part of what they want Christians to start believing! One of the ways a Christian can help a Jehovah’s Witness out of such a delusion is to ask the following two simple questions:

(1) Did Jesus, Paul or any of the early disciples ever preach the gospel of the kingdom? The answer is a definite yes (Mt. 4:23; 9:35; Acts 20:25; etc.).

(2) Did they ever preach the kingdom was established in the heavenlies in 1914? The answer is a definite no.

The conclusion is, the Christians of the first century preached a different gospel than the Jehovah’s Witnesses are. The real gospel centers around the Lord Jesus Christ and an obedient faith in him for eternal life. Ask the Jehovah’s Witnesses the following: Why are you preaching a different gospel, especially since you will be condemned with anathema just for that (Gal. 1:8,9)? The real gospel of grace is detailed in 1 Cor. 15:1-4 and Acts 20:21, with no mention of 1914 or any date!
