Is SUICIDE the unforgivable sin?

The following letter was received by Evangelical Outreach and the response follows.

I read about suicide on your web page where i got this e-mail address. i have often heard that suicide is the only unforgivable sin, and that it damns the soul to hell. i’m not being a smart aleck here, but what if one were to jump off a tall bridge or building and ask for forgiveness on the way down, before dying? i am being truthful when i say i’m not making a joke. i’ve had suicidal thoughts for most of my life, and i’m 36. please take this question seriously and respond. thank you.

[Response: Suicide is self-murder. Murderers go to the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8). How is one able to repent BEFORE the sin? There is no such thing in the Bible. Besides repentance must be sincere. How could it be if one is NOT SORRY for his murder since it is all planned out and acted upon including the so-called “repentance”? If you get saved you’ll have a purpose to live, peace, joy, love and truth. To live for GOD is the greatest life anyone could ever have. GOD BLESS YOU.]

Why Evil Men Love Darkness and Hate Gospel Light | Dan Corner

Have you ever wondered why those on the road to hell treat Christians (and their wonderful gospel message) so badly? Here’s the answer:

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. (John 3:19,20)

Evil doers hate and love the wrong things! They love darkness and hate the light, the opposite of a real Christian, one who has eternal life. So how wicked is society—past and present—with that in mind? The answer is: Since the MAJORITY of people are on the road to hell and are also evil doers, then the MAJORITY of people love spiritual darkness (false doctrines, sin, etc.) and hate spiritual light (God’s truth and an obedient faith with commitment to the Lord Jesus). All Christians were there at one time, but God’s wonderful gospel, when received, changed things in the most blessed way. To become a new creation in Christ means goals, values and ambitions all change for the good to please God and help others.

God bless you.

Dan Corner is an evangelical holiness preacher whose love for souls compels him to share the gospel with others.

Find Peace with God

Many people do not even realize that they do not have peace with God, which is the reason they never pursue it! True peace comes from having your heavy sin load forgiven. When Jesus’ blood was shed on the cross, he made it possible for all people to have eternal life and peace with God. Another problem is, many people wrongly think that they have peace with God because they were, at some past point, forgiven. What multitudes don’t realize is they can lose their salvation and peace with God through sin.

Holiness Preacher Dan Corner teaches about the VITAL importance of pursuing peace and living a life that is righteous, AFTER you have been born again. He uses the Bible to show that even though you have once found peace with God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, your future sins are not automatically forgiven.
